Types of Classes Available
Wedding Dance Preparation
3-5 lessons are recommended for a basic 2 minute routine. Please have a few songs in mind before your first lesson.
- Every dance routine has a beginning with a unique entrance, then a middle (the actual dancing), and an end pose.
- During the first lesson, Catherine will show you the basic step, hold and musicality of your dance.
- The following lessons will involve basic entrance and end pose choreography, while still perfecting the dance steps.
- More lessons may be needed for choreography.
Group Classes
If you have an event you would like special instruction for, or just want to get a group together to learn a specific dance or dances, we can help! Below are examples of events Catherine has taught at or in preparation for:
- Balls/ galas
- Embassy events
- Corporate events
- Holiday parties
- Birthday parties
- Cotillions
- Bar/ Bat Mitzahs
- Bridal party routines
Private Lessons
Do you have a lot of weddings or events coming up or have you always wanted to learn ballroom or latin dancing?
- If you are a complete beginner, it is best to start off with private lessons as opposed to group classes so you can benefit from instruction tailored to your specific needs.
- Catherine is trained in both leading and following, and specializes in teaching absolute beginners.
Dances Taught
These are the main dances we teach, others available!
Waltz
The "mother of all partner dances", the only 3/4 count dance. elegant and slow. Great beginner dance.

Foxtrot
Big band, jazzy and slow. Anything Frank Sinatra, or that makes you want to sway.

Swing
Big band, jazzy and fast. There are several variations, including Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing.

Salsa
The famous latin dance. Fast rhythm and dynamic music. Popular and useful.

Rumba
Slow, latin dance (in origin). Can be danced to non-spanish songs as well. Box step is the basic.
